Biography

I, Kamogelo Kutloano Moganedi, was born and raised in Middelburg, Mpumalanga, South Africa. I am a commercial photography student passionate about capturing the essence of people, environment and products through visual storytelling. My journey began in 2019 when my appreciation for visual aesthetics shaped my photographic style.

Driven by a passion for capturing moments, I am pursuing formal training in commercial photography to enhance my technical skills and develop a keen eye for detail. I utilize various techniques and lighting setups to create compelling images that resonate with audiences.

As the founding director of Gillum Media Group, established in May 2020, I have gained extensive experience in media production, including photography, videography, and editing. This venture has allowed me to collaborate with diverse clients, expanding my expertise in commercial photography and broader.

Artist Statement
I am a multi-talented maverick with principles towards achieving all that I desire.
My photography role in the universe is to elevate Conceptual Photography as a genre expressing harmony, following the meaning of my middle name, ‘Kutloano’.
​
I have drawn inspiration from various Conceptual Photographers, such as Cindy Sherman and Kyle Thompson, from their ornate self-portraits. Drawn from their work, I express (not limited to) myself in every way: conceptual artwork from utilizing light, the black box and its optics, accompanied by consequential elements. Exploring other genres is also exciting because it takes me out of my comfort zone and keeps me challenged, extracting the best of my abilities.

I am obsessed with doing this as a profession since my comfort zone is determined by creative thinking.
I will not change the world with this kind of expression of the human element. Yet, I will revolutionize the universe so that whichever generation comes next will find the harmony I portray through my photographs.
